Is West Nile virus still as common as it was a couple years ago? |
Myself and my child went to the park today and have a few bug bites, what kind of bugs leave the red itchy bumps or is it only mosquitos, and do the bug bites pose a very big threat as they did in the last couple of years as far as west nile and stuff? Also, how would you know if you had it, do the bug bites get bruised or swollen or anything if they are infected? west nile is still very common. it is more common in areas where there is water and swampy mud. ants can cause red bumps but usually mosquitos are what are the most common. ways to know if you have west nile virus is if you suddenly get high fever tired out of no where and well you can go get a blood test at your local family doctor Here is the CDC web page on west nile: |
