West Nile Virus. Is there a Cure? |
I think i got it because i got bite by a mosqueo and they said that a whole bunch of mosequtioz carry West Nile. wat r the symptoms? is there a cure? is there treatment? will i die n a set amount of time plz answer my life's in ur handz West Nile is caused by a virus; you get better on your own. Treatment is for symptoms only. Very few people die from it--usually those who are elderly, very very young or immunocompromised. Some people have or a mild flu like syndrome. Most people have no symptoms or symptoms that are so mild that people do not realize they have been infected. Mild or moderate symptoms include fever, tiredness, headache, and body aches, occasionally with skin rash and swollen lymph nodes. Not all mosquitos carry West Nile & not all bites transmit it. Very high fever, headache, confusion, muscle aches, tiredness, and body aches, skin rash and swollen lymph glands. When did you get bitten? It generally takes 2-15 days to show up after the bite. Most likely if you have it, you'll be fine, but if it's severe they'll put you on IV, manage your airway, respiration, etc. It doesnt usually get that bad though. No cure- sorry:( |
