Is West Nile Virus a life-long disease?

Do infected people carry it for the rest of their lives? Can it be cured? What type of medicines treat it?

I want to know because my boyfriend just got tested for it after having a 103 degree fever this morning.

Although many people are bitten by mosquitos that carry West Nile virus, most do not know they've been exposed. Few people develop severe disease or even notice any symptoms at all.
Please see the web pages for more details on West Nile virus.

I've heard that it's like mono. Which means that you will "carry" it, but you won't infect others after the initial infection. I bet if you do research on some medical sites, they will be able to provide more information.
