Does west nile virus like to attack a specific ethnic group or gender?

Does west nile virus like to attack a specific ethnic group or gender?

Not that I am aware of. Mosquitoes are equal opportunity disease carriers.

However, that said, it is possible that other influencing factors could result in specific demographic trends in terms of proportion of population affected by West Nile Virus.

For instance, is one ethnic group or one gender more likely to be outside during prime mosquito times than another ethnic group or gender? Are occupations that lead to increased mosquito exposure more likely to be filled from the ranks of specific ethnic groups or from one gender? Would one ethnic group or one gender be more likely to sleep with the windows open due to lack of air conditioning? And so on and so forth.

I am sure an effective case could be built to show that certain environmental conditions that increase the liklihood of contact with certain diseases or disease carriers are rooted in ethnic background, financial circumstance, and perhaps even gender, as well as a wide host of other demographic qualifiers.

It's a virus. It doesn't LIKE anything.
