Eastern Equine Encephalitis and West Nile Encephalitis are both different strains of encephalitis, both cause varying symptoms that can be flu-like in nature or in some cases EEEV and WNV can be fatal. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website (link included) One Third of all patients with EEEV die however over 80% of patients with WNV have no symptoms at all and only one of every 150 people infected develop serious illness. |
