Weight Training??

Ok Im on a diet thing that you lose weight.
But it says to do cardio and weight training.
Im a girl and i want to slim down and tone up.
So I already run 2-4 miles a day..which is my cardio.
But what should i do for weight training?

You need to work large muscle groups to burn the most calories and tone your core muscles... Lunges, squats, deadlifts, bent over rows, upright rows all with weights ... then pushups (start on your knees -try for 10 then 20... then try doing them properly on your toes), crunches, leg raises... and if you can manage a chin up or two.. they are really good for you.

Here is a directory showing good form... http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html

Lift weight and go the gym and use exercise machines.

Try a 1 lbs dumbell. If it's too heavy, then sorry.

do some yoga or even just stretch

I would suggest going on shape.com and looking through their training cards. They have different workouts and have great pics with directions. It is a good place to start and you can choose your levels.

you need to work your biceps, triceps, upper back and legs. I started doing this last year and lost 45 pounds. start with 3 sets of 15reps The best cardio is the cross trainer eliptical machine

Work the muscles to the core.
Light 3-5 pound weights. Do reps.
Sit ups, Push ups.
Almost like strength training but for slim/slender..ness.
Go to Shape.com or look in max muscle magazine.
Actually any magazine that has anything to do with fitness.
Good luck.
