Will extensive weight training stunt my growth?

I'm a 17 year old male who trains regularly in the gym. I train intensely and make no exceptions, and make sure I get the most out of the workout. I train using weights every second day of the week, and train my cardiovascular fitness on days I am not weight training.

I always train extremely hard, such to the point my muscles ache the next day. In my mind, that is the only way to improve - and I notice the difference. But the problem is, or so I've heard, is that it could stunt my growth.

I am only 5'5 in height, so I am relatively short for a male of my age. My height is very important to me, but so is my training. Training is my only means of dealing with stress and allows me to build my confidence, but I truly hate being short with a passion.

Should I drop all the training, or keep the cardiovascular only or should I just continue like this? I really don't know what to do, I have this debate with myself regularly. Please help!

Do exercises that do not require compression. E.g. avoid bench press, squats. Do chin-ups, leg extensions.
