Weight training? |
Hi there I am a 15 year old male and I am still in the stages of puberty. I was wondering at this point do our arms still grow in length? Also, whats a safe amount to lift of dumb-bells without damaging your growth plates The idea that lifting weights will stunt growth in young people is a myth and has no scientific or medical evidence to support it. The only injury comes from lifting weights incorrectly or using weights that are way beyond the capability of the person. If you do start a weight training program find an experienced adult, or better yet a certified personal trainer, to show you how to lift correctly and safely. Start slow and light while working on perfecting form, and when you get better you can start adding weight. |
