I have been weight training for 6 months, what happens if i stopped weight training for a month?

I am going to visit my family for a month during Decemeber, out of state, I dont want to use too much time weight training cuz than i dont get to visit my family much. I was wondering what would be ur advice? is weight training twice a week is as effective as 3 times a week? of course i am keeping my daily walks while in december but want to slow down my weight training just for a month but how will it affect my muscles? than i will get back to my weight training routine after Jan. I am in a pretty good shape with my body and have small muscles already showing in my arms.

if you cut out weight training completly out of your lifestyle for an entire month, your body will not have reason to maintain all that hard earned muscle. want to lose what took you six months of sweat?? however, for maintence you could workout twice a week and try maintain your diet. This will save you from losing all that hard earned muscle and because of changing up your routine, from three times to two times a week, you may even add more muscle for two reasons:
1: your body will be in shock for this change of routine
2: your muscles and nervous system will have more time to recuperate between workouts.

note: since you are a beginner try hit your entire body in each session, with no more than three sets per body part for maximium gains

goodluck!!

You'll turn into a 95 pound weakling. Naw ,I'm kidding. Why not continue and then you can oil up and put on a display for them.

Some of your muscle might start turning to fat, but I doubt it'll be very much. As long as you stick to your healthy diet 2 times a week instead of 3 will make minimal difference. You might not build too much muscle in that time, but you'll probably maintain.

In one month you can lose up to 50% of the adaptations your body has made whilst you have weight trained in the past 6 months. This is not just muscular, but hormonal, biochemical and structural.

Maybe take a few hand weights with you and exercise in your room. Go for a run with a backpack on and a few weighted objects to change your exercise reigme, but continue with the weight theme. There are so many exercises you can do at home, and on holidays so you will not have to restart your whole program when you return.

ummm there is a possiplity that you will gain waight .the best thing to do is not to eat too much while your there

Sometimes, less is more. You may just find out that if you cut back your weight training to twice a week instead of 3 times a week, you'll make better gains. Your body adapts to your workout, so doing it less often would "trick" it into increasing your gains again.

Annette J: Muscle cannot change to fat, and fat cannot change to muscle. That would like changing lead into gold. It just doesn't happen.
