Weight training a substitute for cardio? |
I recently added weight training to my workout schedule and i do it every other day. the days that i am not weight training, i do at least a 30 min cardio workout. I used to just do cardio 5 or six times a week. now i alternate between the two on a daily basis, but i'm doing something 7 days a week. so half my cardio workouts are replaced by weight training. in terms of burning calories and fat, is it a good substitute for cardio? is this exercise routine adequate? i'm 16 by the way. Hey, your current routine of alternating cardio exercise and weight training is an excellent one! keep it up! It is good to get at least 3 days of cardio in. Weight training is good. I have met guys that think they only need to do weight training. I think other wise. Weight training is good for burning calories and fat, but cardio is important as well. |
