Weight loss surgery...advice?

I am planning on having weight loss surgery ...to be performed by Dr. David Syn in Lubbock Texas. I would like to hear from people who have had the surgery. I am having the RNY surgery. I want to hear the good the bad and the ugly...but all serious and honest answers please...

Roux en Y.
Can cause wonderful and quick weight loss.. You can lose 80% of the extra weight within the first year.
Problems: Then you'll need another surgery to get rid of excess skin, which is not a bad problem. Most people can no longer eat steak. You hreally have to change your life. You can't eat very much, and you have to go so so slow when you start eating. Slow yourself down, and make sure your expectations are reasonable.... You aren't going to be able to eat much solid food until probably xmas, and you are going to have bad days with lots of vomiting...
Risks: Death, malabsorption, constant vomiting, malrotation of the gut... There are other risks, blood clot, infection, rupture of the stomach... tears of the esophagus.

If you are having the surgery the risks of you dying from your comorbidities from being overweight, must be less than that of the surgery.
I wish you luck.

I am 40years old and had my 1st stomach stapling at age 19, I weighed 219 and lost to 108 my regular weight stayed about 135 and was a size 6/8. I had two children after 30 and lost without any problem. I had medical problems with seizures and stomach (Not
related to stapling 2 years ago and gained part of my weight back).
I just had a revision done on my stapling and fixed my problems with
the lining and stricture of my stomach July 10. I recommend the surgery totally. My mom, aunt, sister, and uncle all had it over the past 25 years all the different ways and we all have had great results. If you want results bad enough, follow instructions like they have now they did not with my 1st surgery, it is alot easier. You live a normal life of eating. You eat less, chew more alot more, but you don't have to cut out everthing, but sugar is a good thing to delete. I followed a different way the past 19 years and kept my weight off, but this time am following the roun x diet.
This time right before surgery I got nervous for some odd reason
any questions about surgery, after surgery, recovery, hospital stay, hey ask. I had been thru it before and I was nervous.

Email me any questions? Or just to chat. I am 2 weeks surgery free and have been thru it all before.

RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery/gastrectomy/lapband (all types of weight loss /bariatric surgery) is very cheap and safe in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your obesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her obesity surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .SHe is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.
