Weight loss surgery answers...?

Why do people get so offended when you answer their weight loss surgery question differently than they were hoping? If people want only yes and positives then don't post the question. And the other people who answer get mad when you say something negative or to the contrary. People are entitled to their opinion, and the asker asked for their opinion/answer.

I suppose the asker has the notion that it should always be a positive. I object to anyone getting weight surgery strictly for cosmetic purposes. If it a doctor's recommendation, that is different.

Simplistic negative generalizations will always be viewed poorly. Criticizing weight loss surgery and blaming people for being overweight because they're lazy is a very ignorant viewpoint.

If you're having relationship troubles with your significant other and you ask for advice .. it would be like someone responding with "He probably lost interest in you because you're ugly/bitchy/lazy/bad lover/dumb/embarassing."

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't mean your opinion is right or will be popular amongst people who know more about life's complexities. People who ask questions are looking for informed, unbiased responses. They generally aren't seeking, nor want, kindergarten criticisms.
