Can you have weight loss surgery more then once? I had a gartric bypass done in?

Decemebr 2001, I lost 220 pounds, but then I got depressed and gained back 75 pounds. My tummy allows me to eat whatever I want and I don't like that. I just want to have surgery again and get healthy again.

Having gastric bypass surgery will make you thinner. But it will not make you healthy. Changing your habits by exercising and eating right will make you healthy. A gastric bypass is for people whose health is in imminent danger. It is a temporary fix, and should be followed by changing eating and exercise habits to stay healthy. Sadly, there is no magic surgery or pill that will make you "healthy." It takes discipline, self-control, and self-respect. A doctor or nutritionist can help set you on the right path. For your sake, love yourself enough to get healthy the right way. You're worth it.

Talk to your doctor. If you're not in major danger to your health the probable answer is no.

Well congratulations on losing the 220 pounds.I would say not to do it.If you have it again, you will keep thinking ill eat what i like because i can always depend on that surgery. To me,not to sound rude, but you seem like you kind of depend on that surgery, like it is your only thing that you have to depend on.You can get healthy, change your eating habits. You said above that "my tummy allows me to eat whatever i want" no it doesnt,YOU allow YOURSELF to eat whatever you want.Change your eating habits, plan meals out in advance.Plan lets say for a week in advance get your major grocery shopping done on one day, make sure you plan your meals precisely. If you go to the store at the last minute, your more vulnerable to the temptation of getting something easy, and that contains more fat or ingredients that arent healthy,as opposed to go in advance.Change your exercise habits,do daily work outs or go for walks daily dont over do it,just do some sort of exercises.
Good luck on your Weight loss!:) hope i helped!

I think it is possible, I remember someone in TV with two gartric bypass OPs, because the first time they made it too tight.

Sounds to me like surgery is not the answer. I have not had surgery, and you know what? My tummy allows me to eat whatever I want, too. It always has. Thing is, your "tummy" shouldn't be in charge. You're a grown-up, no one is forcing you to eat unhealthy foods. When you had your surgery the first time, there should have been a lot of information given to you on how to eat afterwards. Read it, and try following it. It sounds like you consider surgery to be some miraculous fix-all. It isn't, it's an aid to losing weight, but you still need to put some work into it. When you're feeling depressed, instead of eating, try doing some kind of activity. Go for a walk, dance, clean the windows, something other than sitting down and eating. You need to create new habits to get healthy, not depend on a surgeon to fix things for you.
