Thoughts on Weight Loss Surgery?

Thoughts on Weight Loss Surgery?

It is getting more common, which is good- because it is getting safer. I think it's a good option for people who have a strong genetic predisposition toward being extremely overweight. It seems to really help people to change their body's trends toward weight gain and lose weight. The catch is, you still have to work at maintaining a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. If you have the surgery and gradually overeat, you will gain weight back in time and stretch your stomach. The Band seems to be effective too, much less invasive. It seems worth checking into for the long term health benefits. I think that in the next 10 years we're going to see much better research that shows that obesity is a complex health condition that IS NOT controllable with will power.

Healthier, better and more successful long term if you do it by diet and exercise. Plus, no surgical complications.

If it's something like "my arms are too fat" or whatever then I think it's stupid.

But if your weight is really effecting your life go for it.

try to avoid it, try any other means before... unless you're like twice your reccomended body weight

for a young person IMO it's a very bad idea if the health is not in immediate danger. there is absolutely no data on the long term ramafications of such a drastic change in the human digestive tract.

diet and exercise works for everybody you just have to make learn how to eat properly and get regular exercise that is optimum for your goals
