Any of the sites below should answer any questions you have :-)

gastric bipass? Most people I know who've had it have really saggy skin like an old person's. Most of them can't afford to remove the excess skin the insurance company doesn't pay for that operation.

I know two people that have had the lap band surgery, and they are still the same size they were before the surgery. I think you would need to address the reason as to why you eat. If you are an emotional eater, then the surgery may not be for you. The gastric bypass surgery makes you sick if you eat too much, or eat the wrong thing. Do you really want to go thru life like that? I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

Didn't you watch Biggest Loser. I lost 60 lbs like it was nothing just low carb and cardio (5miles a day) and I smoke. Just loose it your self. Atkins works better and only improves your health.

Weight loss surgery is for losers.Just stick to a sensible diet and excercise regime. It takes a lot of will-power to start with but once the weight starts to come off you will be happy that you persevered.Good luck!

Several friends have had the surgery. Most noticeably effect for them is heartburn. They always seem to have it. Also for older ladies it does seem to make you appear much older and wrinkled in appearance. You may be thinner but not necessarily more attractive. Also, if you are an emotional over eater most likely you will gain the weight back anyway.

Unfortunately the surgery is still new enough that we don't KNOW the long term effects. Speak to your doctor.
