What do you think about Weight Loss Surgery?

Specifically Lapband but any opinions are greatly appreciated.

I have heard good news for some people and bad for others. I have a friend that had it done down in Mexico and they botched the job up. Now she is dealthy ill. Another friend had it over 4 years ago and has been able to keep the weight off and does great.

You really have to make sure you are getting a good doctor, follow the directions and lifestyle to a T or else it will fail and you may wind up sicker than before.

depends...if ur obese and have enough $$$ then its a good idea...if not...then its a bad idea...kinda depends
GOOD LUCK :)

lapband better than gastric bypass. i'm not going to get into my opinion about it. i will just say don't use it for a quick fix and make sure you research it GREATLY before deciding whether or not to do it and not just through the doc/surgeon you see regarding it. there are plenty of places online to find journals about outcomes on it and stuff like that.

if you are too lazy to exercise and don;t care risking your life. it's ok.

Lap band was described to me as, "A very expensive way to stop eating too much."

Some people do has success with it.
Many people DO NOT.

It appears way too many are asking about it as there are lots of advertising about it. T V is horrible about advertising medical related products. On the TV doesn't make it right for anyone.

Weight loss surgery-like lap band surgery have become very common and very safe now. My cousin got her Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in India. She has lost more than 65 lbs in 5 months and is very happy with the results. The price for obesity surgery is very less in India. My cousin just paid 25% of the cost she was quoted in America. She got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as bariatric surgery and weight loss surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your Obesity surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
