Advise for weight control?


I've never been to concerned about my weight - it's always been pretty stable - about 145 lbs for the past four years or so. But I noticed in august that I had suddenly gained 13 lbs in about five weeks, because I weiged myself in a doctor's office when I had my kid in for a check up. So I bought a scale and started restricting my diet but I still gained another five lbs. in three months. I visited the doc who said my thyroid was fine and ran other tests that came out normal. He said my body mass index was 25.5 so I don't need to be too concerned. I finally gave up trying to stop or even control my weight gain at the start of the year. I've gained six more lbs in the last 11 days. I no longer have med insurance so I can't go back to the doctor. If I eat 400 calories a day I would have to lose some weight. I realize that's anorexia but I'd rather die than be fat. I just don't know what to do.

I'm not sure what's the best answer. I'll try adding more exercise and I'm looking into herbalife. Thanks.

Exercise helps to boost your metabolism, or just try over the counter diet aids, also Weight Watchers works great. Did you just have the baby and did you get Mirena... Just asking cause I gained weight after I got it.

dont do anything drastic...... simply put burn more calories than you take in.... Simple fitness at least 3 times a weak for at least an hour and a healthy diet simple as that. you can walk, or run, ride a bike, play tennis, anything you want, just stay active and you wont have anything to worry about.

DO NOT TRY OVER THE COUNTER DIET AIDS!!!!! they will not work, dont try to get a quick fix, the only way to loose weight and keep it off is having an active lifestyle

In my opinion, (in part) it's not so much about weight sometimes as it is shape. Try to gain lean body mass. I use the shapeworks program and I really enjoy it. I can also tell you that it's given me a lot of good energy, I feel so great! As I said I do take them personally, I'm not trying to solicit anyone, just sharing my experience!
