Does birth control=weight gain?

it says birth controls side effect is weight gain?

any experiences i should know about before subjecting myself to the pill?

Weight gain does not always follow. I suggest you talk to your doctor about the different choices in pills, since there are different levels of hormones available that can cater to your specific needs. He would also know about what side effects are most common for which prescription.
One of my hosuemates, as well as myself, are on different prescriptions and we have not found any significant weight gain. However, I do know of a few pople that did have it.

No! I don't know anybody ever who gained weight after starting birth control. Protect yourself. You'll gain more weight if you get pregnant than if you use the pill.

It didn't happen for me.

Just for the reconrd just as many women who gain weight on the pill also loose weight. And not only that, but if you are one of the girls that you are noticing that you are gaining a pound or two, you can start eating lower calorie food or excersizing to prevent the weight from coming on. You can stop the weight from adding itself to you. You'll be fine.

I gained about 5 pounds going on the pill. it sucks...but i'd rather not be pregnant.
