Quaker Instant Oatmeal-Weight Control. Is this a good choice for breakfast?


I am trying to lose a few pounds, and am looking for a good breakfast choice, as I understand this is the most important meal of the day.

I think it is. I eat it almost every day, I also add some berries and chopped walnuts as well.

Sounds like a good choice, if not, some egg beaters would be good as well. Protein will stay with you longer and you won't get hungry as soon for lunch.

Yes. I find it very filling and so I'm not hungry again until lunch time. I would also eat a piece of fruit - banana or apple.

Oatmeal is very good, it increases metabolism and removes bad cholesterol. However, the regular stuff is lower GI than the instant stuff, so it will break down more slowly, which is what you want. It keeps your blood sugar more stable.

Definitely! I eat it 4 or 5 times a week, usually with blueberries and brown sugar. It's filling, low fat, and helps reduce cholesterol. Very good choice for breakfast...
