im already about 15 pounds over weight and am starting yaz birth control.... will it make me gain alot of weight? if so how can i stop it?

yea your going to gain weight depending on the birth control u take some only make u gain ten pounds some make u gain 30
i am on birth and i gained like 30 SO yea there's no way of stopping it either but u can try to diet like limit Wat u eat and stuff

It is normal to gain up to 10 pounds on birth control pills. The only way I know to stop it is to actually lose weight and then the weight gain from the pill won't matter. It comes right off when you go off the pill.

that is a side effect but it does NOT effect all woman, just kkep an eye on your weight and if you notice a gain, exercise a little more, drink more water and eat healthier

Drink lots of water.
I don't take Yaz, but the only time birth control made me gain weight was when I was on the shot, and Yaz, although a pill, works similar. I suggest taking it, watching what you eat, and if you gain weight when you shouldn't have, get off and try something new.

I think its a fallacy based on age and maturation. As we age, we tend to gain weight. We gain in our teens, twenties and thirties and that is also the time we use bc. That being said, don't over eat.

Not everyone gains weight, and for those that do it's just water weight. Avoid carbonated beverages and salty foods and you should be fine. You're not going to totally pork up or anything. BTW, all the weight I gained was in my breasts, so it's not always a bad thing!!! You're better off being on the pill than worrying about gaining a few pounds.

See 10th fat loss tip on site below. It has articles by 2 female MDs saying that bc pills can make you fat, depressed, get breast cancer or heart attack. What sounds good to you. SAY NO TO DRUGS.

Some women does gain weight on the pill. (my sis did). I've been taking it for awhile and haven't gain any weight but i had side effect to the first one i was taking so, i switched; maybe you can try switching to another brand. Lower doses perhaps.

yes you will gain more weight,My suggestion is to stop taking it.There are other symstoms that can come with it in the future for example blood clot.

Birth control doesn't actually make you gain weight. It messes up your hormones which makes you crave greasy food and not want to work out or anything, so you end up gaining weight as an indirect result. I've been on a bunch of different birth controls and gained weight with all of them. But, now I'm on Yaz, and I might have gained 1 or 2 pounds, if that. I don't feel the cravings and fatigue like I did on other birth control. Just make sure you eat healthy and exercise, even after getting on the pill.

When I went on birth control I gained about 6 or 7 pounds.. but it was an up side for me because I've always been terribly naturally underweight. Now my weight is healthy. Usually your doctor would reccommend some other form of birth control when someone is overweight, because they know one of the main side effects of being on the pill is weight gain. Maybe speak to your doctor again to ask them is there is an alternative that might suit you better? :]
