i am already chubby as it is. I really don't want to gain weight. is there a general concensus of a birth control pill that prevents or even induces weight LOSS? I hear there are some that make the breasts larger and whatnot.
It is different for diffierent body types I assume? Would the Dr. be able to lead me in the right direction as far as what i want and don't want in birth control? or do i have to try around until I find the one I like? To be honest, the weight gain on birth control is sorta a myth. My breasts swelled maybe a little, but the only weight gain is just a little extra water retention, similar to when you're about to have your period. In general, the lower dose pills will have fewer side effects. But, by the same token, they usually don't prescribe the lower dose pills to people who are heavier (not even overweight, just heavier) because they are less effective.
I wouldn't worry about birth control causing major weight gain at all, but I dunno. Ask about YAZ? Explain your concern and your doctor will be pretty good about narrowing it down. it is different for everyone. I never gained any weight on BC Pills. |
