Is drinking rain water very dangerous?

some people claim that using rain water makes tea tasting a lot much better,
of course these people aren't bothered by pollution, germs, bacteria, and even viruses if you know what I mean.

One should just see how they catch rain water coming off their roof and funneled down into a filty mosquito infested conatiner.

In one incident I saw a large fish inside, They referred to it as their pet fish. Doesn't it ever poop in the water? hahaha.

yes and its also very disgusting

Rain water is very safe. It is part of the water cycle and is like drinking Dasani spring water.

Do not drink rain water, especially if it comes off your roof.
Even IF you keep the mosquitoes out of it, it will carry dirt from your roof.

it is not clean

I sincerely hope that you are joking. There is so much pollution in the air that water has to be purified before it can be considered for consumption.

It is good for you but not from your roof and filtered the same as any water. I would only use later rains and not the first washing the scum out of the air...it is good believe it or not.

NO!In movies where poor people or people that have less money can't buy water so they wait tell it rainz!

I would not recommend the 1st 10 minutes of the rain because it is pulling down all the pollution, but after that it is probably pretty good instead of the chemically altered water we drink. Plus these people you must be referring to have obviously built up an immunity to the other things that have combined with the rain water.

well it does contain pollutants from the air, but boiling it might take out some of the nasty. I still wouldn't do it though. Don't believe that crap about the tea.

It's fine a lot of people have cisterns or ponds that they get there water from

how do u think a rain drop forms? water forms around dirt particles in the air., when ur drinking rain, ur also drinking the pollutants in the air that will keep us safe when the aliens attack

Short answer: YES

Rain water can carry many toxins, diseases, infections, viruses, organisms, etc. Ever heard of acid rain?!?

Long Answer: It Depends. . .

On the environment of the area. Then again, rain often comes from great distances. Rain can carry vital minerals and nutrients that are often stripped from tap and bottled water.

Either Way:

The larger the society the less safe the rain and tap water is for consumption. Heavily populated areas are the worst.

In other words, unless for your survival, AVOID DRINKING RAIN.

Yes, drinking untreated rainwater could be dangerous.
Harvesting rainwater is an excellent conservation practice, but can only be safely used for drinking water when proper procedures are followed.

the color of water coming off the roof is already tea color from all the dirt etc. not a good idea unless you treat

Rain can be caught for garden or non potable uses if funnelled off a structure...if it's directly caught it couldn't get more purer.
But then again drinking runoff might be just as good as tap...have you seen the pipes that deliver the water throughout the city and in your house.....that's why I buy bottled water.

yes yes yes

yes i think so.i think rain water is actually a weak acid rain, think about it, the air nowadays is polluted from chemicals in factories and gas fumes, etc. just stick to purified water.

Well,it can be toxic from pollution.
