One in four americans will get cancer now?

because of the pollution. the cargenagens we ingest in the water air and food.the fish in the oceans are getting so polluted we shouldnt eat the larger type fish..what to do?

Where did you get that statistic? Please provide a link.

I've always felt that we are studying the wrong statistic . . we should be trying to find out why there are so many people who NEVER get cancer. If the environment is polluted and there are carcinogens in water, air, and food . . wouldn't we all have cancer? What is it about the rest of us that seems to be preventing cancer from developing in the first place. Why can someone smoke for 50 years and never get lung cancer . . while a healthy individual with no history of smoking develops lung cancer without any known reason.

Those are the statistics that would interest me.

Otherwise just keep on living life to the best of your ability.

Try 1 out of 3. Yea, it's that bad.

You should live normally, healthily, and happily. Don't be paranoid. Enjoy life. Don't smoke, don't over-eat, don't drink excessively. Be normal. Be good. Be happy.

Relax.

Or you could eat only alfalfa sprouts and spring water and wear a tunic and live in the desert. Under the ground.

Yes, I've heard that 1 in 4. However, pollution is not the only reason. Other reasons include: (over)exposure to sunlight, viruses, man-made and natural radiation (i.e. radon gas), free radicals, poor lifestyle (alcohol, smoking, diet, etc.)

I agree pollution is a problem and an increasing problem not just with cancer.

Actually I'm pretty sure the lifetime rates for any kind of cancer in America are one in two for males and one in three for females.

Nice, huh?

It's not only because of the pollution, but that's one reason. We need to clean up the earth anyway.
