Hand warts, contagious? |
My boyfriend has warts on his hands...not the STD kind mind you, he told me that his doctor told him if he touched the wart too much, it could spread on his body. Well, my question is, if I touch the warts on his hand..could I possibly get the warts? i agree with the first answer. as a nursing student we learned that a wart is a virius that show up on your skin you can have them removed fromyour skin but the virius really doesn't go away. what happens is the virius stores itself in your spinal cord and comes out to me the wart and hides again so you never really remove the virius. chicken pox is the same way. i know iknow nobady gets chicken pox twice. shingles is the adult version of this that matured people get. no. warts are a virus that is contained inside the body. only if you had like a cut or something open in your skin, and if your boyfriends wart was bleeding into it, would there be a chance of you getting the virus from him. Now, i don't want to discredit the doctor, but the warts won't spread by touch. only as the virus moves from place to place will the warts move. (i have warts myself! they are a pain to get rid of!)
