New runner!!? |
My husband and I have recently lost a total of 80 pounds by dieting and exercising together. We have a few friends who are avid walkers and runners. We have signed up to do a half marathon in Phoenix in January with those friends. (We asked to do it, they didn't pressure us.) We are currently walk/running 4-8 miles 2-3 times a week. We did 8 miles in one hour and forty minutes this week. Are we on track for training? What do we need to know and do and prepare for that we may not have forseen? How about the climate and temperature in Phoenix in winter? What effect will that play on our ability. We want to have fun together and be fit in the process. Any suggestions...preferably from experienced folks. Try www.faithfulsoles.com There are great training programs for walkers and runners from the beginner to the elite runner at www.runnersworld.com...Good Luck and Congrats on the weight loss. Welcome to the world of running...... I Live to Run and Run to Live !!!!! |
