I've had vulvodynia ,painful sex and constant burning, for years.?

The skin around the vagina feels constantly sore and is sore to touch. I don't seem to get much sympathy from my doctor. He just says that nothing can be done. I've tried aqueous cream and use lubricants. I've heard there's an operation for it . Has anyone had it? I'd like to hear if it helped.

It's starting to affect my relationship because I keep avoiding sex. Any ideas?

i have never heard of a "vulvodynia" i think you should go to another doctor.

oral or the hershey highway?

You need to change docs ASAP if your doc is telling you nothing can be done. CALL NOW and get an appointment to see someone who is strictly a GYN doc who only deals with female problems and not OB too. If that doc doesn't help then continue on until you find one that is willing to help you and actually treat you.

change your diet and meditate for three months..find your innermost thoughts

My goodness sorry sweetie i dont know what it is i wish i can be of help but its funny I feel a burning sensation as well but the doctor says i am fine... Normal back in the testings so i have nooo idea

Please go to a doctor for a second opinion. Many people go to the same doctor most of their life and only get one view. After all they are only humans too and one may have an answer that another one may not.

In the meantime you could still have fun in bed by heavy petting and oral sex.

i would definitely go to a specialist like a gyno or obgyn, and not your regular doctor. You may trust your doc a lot, but they are not specialists in vaginas, and can be wrong sometimes

I didn't know what vulvodynia was until I goggled it. You might want to surf more, this was the first listing on the hit parade.

Looks like at least one doctor has the view that exercising the pelvic floor is helpful.
