My doctor told me a few weeks ago I have vulvodynia and put me on an antidepressant for it. Could the vulvodynia be the cause of my irregular periods and rectal burning? I'm thinking about asking for physical therapy for it. Vulvodynia is defined as chronic vulvar burning and/or pain without clear medical findings. Specific treatable causes should be ruled out. Vulvodynia is a diffuse unremitting vulval burning that may radiate to the inner thigh, buttocks, and perineum. Associated complaints include urethral and rectal burning or discomfort.
