I need avice for cancer? |
My daughter is 20. She has been diagnosed with Vulvar Cancer. We are going to see a highly recommended oncologist today. We will find out what stage she is in, and it looks like Stage 1 or 2. What questions should we ask? My advice for you: Go see your doctor and talk to people you know that have had cancer. Remember your not alone. agressively change her diet...consume clorophil , broccoli . anything green ... that will boost her defenses and will make any treatment less destructive ... she can be a survivor is a early stage .... I assume the diagnosis was made after a biopsy. I would ask the next questions: First thing you want to know is if she will need any surgeries if she hasn't had any yet. They may have already removed the vulvar but might have to go back in to remove some surrounding tissue to see if it has spread to the lymph nodes. Then what kind of treatment is she looking at. If they suggest some thing like radiation then what can she expect from that type of treatment. Radiation therapy is getting better each year but she will still have some problems with sun burning depending on how many treatment she will have to have. She may be very luck if you are thinking she is in stage 1 or 2, they might only do surgery and leave it at that. I know this is very hard on her considering the area it's in. I had my right vulvar removed when I was 38 and it wasn't that bad, just not some thing you really talk about. I was very luck that it wasn't cancer, however three years later I ended up with breast cancer. Had no relation to the vulvar problem. I underwent 6 weeks of radiation, worst part the nasty sun burn, and being very tired. There is a vitamin that you can take during radiation that will help lesson the effects of radiation. It's called Beta glucan most important for anyone doing radiation therapy. You take a dose before you go and one when you come home from a treatment. I advice u to try Marrow syrup or Bean syrub and let her drink it without cooking it.. |
