Older Brother vomiting 4 times a day for 3 years Straight? |
My older brother has either been sick or has buliema for years. He is a 49 year old man that stands at 6'3, once weighted about 250 solid. He has be constantly vomiting 4 times a day for 3 years and now weights about 130. He has been having constant hiccups for so he says that he vomiting to stop the hiccups but now it's become scary. My mother and I see him and he looks like he can't go one any longer with the weight lost. The weird thing is, he still goes to work every morning with no problem and around family acts like nothing is wrong. Almost like WE don't know he's been doing it! But we don't think he is buliemic at his age but we don't know how ANYONE can live this long doing this. He has said that doctors have said that he has pancreatic cancer but that was 2 years ago but from my studies, he shouldn't have lived 6 months past the diagnosis. Is there a a dieases the causes chonic vomiting? And frankly, how long can he live like this? We ruled out drug use and my family has done an intervention with him year after year but because he goes to work every morning with no problem he ends up make us feel like we are making it up about him. age is no matter for bulimia my friends brother vomited till he was dead he needs help and someone should go to the doctor's with him and not take his word for it. Even if he has cancer that yes could cause this there are things they can do to help. If he keeps up he will tear away the lining in his throat and stomach and cause himself internal damage that will not be fixable your family needs to intervene and get him help now there are medications out there to reduce vomiting for cancer patients if that is the truth and not an excuse but don't wait to seek help or you may not have a brother for much longer. Good luck . i think ur bro has got into suum shitty stuff due to which all dese stuffs are probably reacting out.....u knw.....newtons third law states dat'every action has an equal and opposite reaction" Report It Seems as if he is doing a good job of it so far. No offense, but why is it a concern now? No answer here will suffice, save "You take him to the doctor and get a straight answer" as no one here can do a remote diagnosis Did you rule out the possibility of substance abuse and addiction? If he wants his life style to change he probably needs help. It's not normal to live like this. Any age can be bulimic; it's a choice that you make. He's been doing this for so long, that maybe he doesn't know how to stop. I don't know of any disease that cause chronic vomiting. Has anyone in your family talked to him and tried to get him some kind of medical help to stop? Sometimes a group effort will work. Find out if he really wants to stop and wants the help. Then, go from there. Good luck with this. |
