BLOOD IN VOMIT, sore throat, voluntary vomiting, bulimia? |
I've read all the medical literature there is to read about bulimia and vomiting, about vomiting blood, etc. What I am looking for is PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. I have had esophagitis for about 3 years which developed when I was re-feeding when recovering from anorexia. Well, I couldn't keep anything down and just leaned over and all my food came out. Went to a G.I, diagnosed w/Crohns and allergies and no meds worked, and my G.I is so hard to get into I never got another appt. So I've been living with keeping about half my food down and with a history of anorexia, I inevitably used it to just get rid of what I ate and then to eat tons and tons of food that I deprived mself of for years and regurgitate half of it back up. Well, long story short, for the first time in 3 years, I leaned over to release my esophagus full food and saw bright red blood 6 days ago...went to the ER, did ONLY xray, were 2 busy and told me to call a GI, I go in 2 days, and I read about a guy like me who died! I have had my share of Anerxia but not because I wanted to be skinny but because I was getting sick to everything I ate eventually I out grew it reaching 60 pounds at the age of 10 and I was 5"2 at the time. I have recovered from it by being forced to eat since I wouldnt eat anything because of my sickness. All I can say is you sue the hospital if you are vomiting blood that is a sign of a serious health problem. I have never personally vomitted blood but even with anerxia you shouldnt be vomiting blood unless you have sever case of anerxia. My advice to try a differnt hospital and my skill is that these docters dont want waiste time with patience so you need come with straight forward question like May I have A Catscan? Catscan should be the thing you need I had one once it is a very detailed x-ray I strongly recommend it. It sounds to be very serious God Bless You =). Omgsh! Hope you don't die. I've never had personal experience though, except for when I thought that provoked vomiting wasn't possible and tried it. I vomited out my oranges LOL but no blood. I feel so sorry for you. Please tell everyone you know cause they might know someone who knows about it. Hi. Don't know if this will help but when I was bulimic I sometimes had a little bit of blood when I vomited - something to do with small tears in oesphagus I think but it was only ever a tiny bit. I suppose it depends on how much blood there was. Try not to worry though. If you ever read Wasted by Marya Hornbacher she describes often vomiting and coughing up blood and shes still alive (as far as I know). Definitely get it checked out though and be truthful if they ask whats been happening. Hope its ok. x I really don't have any answers for you but, I wish you a full recovery and hope you feel good soon. quit sticking your finger down your throat...are you mental? |
