Vomiting every 2-4 weeks?

Every 2-4 weeks my boyfriend has these violent, vomiting episodes. He has vomited up to ten times in a session (after the food is finally gone, always is bile toward the end), his shirt will be soaked in sweat, and has almost passed out a couple of times. This has been going on for the past 6 months. He has been to the doctor, and the doctor seems to think it is ulcers. Granted, his condition has improved since starting the medication (medication for treatment of heartburn), but it continues and a CT scan shows normal results. The one that happened today resulted in him going to the emergency room where he was given 2 shots of phenergan, was told he had a stomach virus, and then sent home. I'm not convinced that ulcers, or stomach flu for that matter, are the correct prognosis. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be as I am having trouble finding an answer that fits his criteria. Does anyone out there have the same problem?

My husband does, and it's called a hyadle hernia! I don't think I got the spelling right, but I wrote it the way it sounds. He has had it for 20 years. Try elevating his head so he is sleeping in a upright position. He'll stop vomiting, I promise. I'm also adding in that he had the exact same symptoms your boyfriend has, hospital emergency and all.

Your are probably pregnant

have you tryed getting a second opinion?

lol ren c...if you read the question properly..its about a male!

It could be poisoning. Make a list of everything he eats or drinks, then examine each item for potential toxicity. Don't rule out alcohol, medications, or nutritional supplements as potential toxins.

Do you think that your boyfriend could be having these episodes because of nervousness or an eating disorder? Is he unhappy with his weight? Does he have panic attacks?
My mom is a nurse and she has seen about everything....if they can't find a definitive answer, then it could be psychological. Either way, he needs treatment before he gets really sick.
I hope you find out what is going on with him. Good luck.

Does he have any enemies at work? No one is poisoning him right? The Other I may have is: Does he feel dizzy before he vomits? really dizzy he cant keep him eyes open? It would be an ear infection affecting his equilibrium, which can made the tummy sick. Like Motion sickness. I hope you Find out soon.

r u secretly poisoning him? just joking if meds are helping probably is ulcers or acid problem

Go Ren! Thumbs up from me. It's possible this persons BOYFRIEND is pregnant. I mean did she mention MALE in the question? Let's see:

Yep, she did mention it's a he.

Hmm I would definitely seek a second opinion if you can and also ask that he be tested for allergies. It is possible that he is eating something that he is violently allergic to but may not be aware of. Try to keep a diary of the foods he is eating everyday, to see if there are any patterns and so you can show a doctor for further analysis. Good Luck. I hope you find the answer soon :)

I do this. Every so often right after I eat I'll start to sweat, then have to vomit. I'll also feel like I am going to pass out. I never do though. I was told that a artery in the bowel is somehow connected to the blood pressure and it makes the blood pressure just go through the roof. The doctor never really said what to do about it...He basically said nothing could be done.
