I have been experiencing SEVERE vomiting for about a week now, NO diarrhea..PLEASE KEEP READING!? |
I am currently 23. This first started when I was 20. I came home one night from drinkin' with friends, and started vomiting and couldnt stop for a week, ended up in the hospital 3 times for dehydration. So, I figured, Since I COULDNT take that kind of pain, I would stop drinking. I did. you might have ruptured your appendix. but if the doctors havent found anything then probs not. I am really sorry about this because I ABSOULUTLY HATE TO PUKE i would love to help you but I have no idea whats going on with your body. Maybe u have gerd or something. So sorry I coulnt help. To me it sounds like you're having a violent allergic reaction to something you are injesting. At first I would think alcohol, but you said you haven't consumed it when you've had other episodes. Is there a common food that you ate on those days before you have these violent attacks? That would be my guess. Is your care being managed by a gastroenterologist? It needs to be if it is not. I believe there is something wrong with the vomiting center in your brain - once you start, there is not a shut-off valve that allows you to stop (so to speak). This is going to take some major fine tuning in order to stop this cycle. It may also take the help of a neurologist. Hopefully, you had an endoscopy that checked for ulcers so you know there is not a physical problem in your stomach. There is no one here that can help you but there are medications (phenergan, compazine, zofran) that you might be able to take at the onset that might stop this cycle - have you been given a prescription for any of these? If you vomit them back up, they also come in rectal suppository form that is absorbed rapidly and might be able to stop this cycle. I would keep pursuing medical management because there is nothing else you can do that will stop this from occurring. First thing, change doctors. There's one that knows the answer, you just havn't found him yet. You may have to wade thru a lot of pill merchants before you find a doctor, but It's the only way I know. Good luck. I have to agree with Rach. My sister had the same symptoms when she had appendicitis. Though she never drank. I'm not sure how long she vomited, but it kept her out of school. Does it last for a week everytime it happens? I would seek a second opionion from a grastrointologist. Because they would be more knowledgeable about what ever is happening to you. GoodLuck |
