Blood while Vomiting? |
About a week ago i got a stomach virus according to the doctor and was up all night vomiting and diahrrea well i threw up blood then but she just thought it was due to irritation. Well last night and i had a bit to drink (less than i usually do) and i ended up vomiting blood again but this time it was very dark like chunks almost like coagulated and so now i'm a bit worried and i've felt nauseous all day today i'm a 21yr old male with history of celiac disease Vomiting blood is serious and can even be life threatening. Please see a doctor at once. It could possibly indicate liver disease, so you should not drink alcohol. i would go to the doctor again, or at least call them, you could have an ulcer or something thats not too good.....go to the doctor again. Blood is NEVER a good sign. GO TO ER ROOM and tell them ASAP. It could be lung cancer... Proble not but you NEVER take chances. Blood belongs in the body. That is not normal. You could have an ulcer. Also if you when you were sick if you were throwing up really hard it can cause your esophagus to bleed. Maybe the drinking irritated it. I would definitely go to the dr. My brother threw up after drinking and it turned out he had 3 bleeding ulcers. Until you know what it is, don't take any Motrin or Advil. If you do have an ulcer it can make it much worse. It could be an ulcer. You need to see an internal medicine doctor to be sure though. Alcohol will definetly irritate your stomach lining and if you're a chronic drinker, you probably already have some irritation of your lower esophagus. The alcohol mixed with a damaged and irritated lining from what sounds like chronic alcohol use and some gastroenteritis was enough to make you bleed. I do not know your age and this is important in determining if you could be at risk of esophageal cancer. If you have liver cirrhosis, you could have esophageal vericies that could bleed more easily than the normal esophageal epithelium. I would recommend further evaluation with your doctor. Brandon...you probably have gastritis. I agree the possibility of an irritation or Mallory-Weiss tear is real, but vomiting after drinking alcohol is a different problem. Alcoholic Gastritis is treatable, but you need to see a doctor. Stop Drinking and make an appointment. If you feel lightheaded, faint, weak or continue to vomit blood, OR if you begin to pass black tarry stool, go immediately to the ER. Any Doubt...go now! Good Luck!! You might have an ulcer This is important: GET CHECKED OUT ASAP! The darker blood has been bleeding longer. Change your diet to a bland diet with softer foods and no alcohol. You could have a very serious problem and need a stomach scoping. Doctors do miss problems the first visit sometimes and you need to direct your health care! The alcohol has probaby irritated the stomach lining and also "thinned " your blood a bit. How much do you drink a chronic drinking problem can lead to ulcers and liver failure. See a physician and be honest about the alcohol Vomiting blood is a classic symptom of internal bleeding. The best way to put your mind at ease is to seek expert medical advise. If you're insured or near a government hospital, you should go to an emergency or urgent care center as soon as possible. If you're not insured or near a government hospital, you'd might want to check your symptoms on Web MD or call an advice nurse hot line first before you go to the hospital. At the very least, take some action immediately. Hope this helps you and good luck. |

The excess movement upset your stomach. Same thing happens to me. I've even had several times during intense workouts where I felt like I was going to vomit just because I was pushing so hard ... Sounds like it is emergency room time. Leave NOW without wasting any more time. Could be very serious. ...Nausea accompanies certain migraines. My wife was able to manage her (debilitating and nausea) migraines by identifying the triggers...in her case it was cheese and chocolate. She still enjoys th... listen dear ,you should've gone to hospital ,since Monday ,you most probably have gastritis (stomach inflammation) ,and if you have diarrhea too ,then you have gastroenteritis ,but they should... your hypothesis is partly right... yah, theres an air in your stomach because you ingested lots of air when you eat or drink.. try avoid carbonated drinks and sodas.. and try to chew your food ... Take her back to the hospital, or to a local doctor. Insist that they X-Ray her and examine her properly, if they did not do this already. Give her ice cubes to suck on to try to prevent dehydra... eat less and use head rest ...I don't know what could be wrong with her but you need to take her to the vet. You don't want her condition to get worse or maybe fatal. Ask some family if you need to to get enough money... |
