Is there intersex specialists?

I've been to some doctors including an endocrinologist and a psychiatrist, but they don't seem interested in intersex at all.

I'm 25 and male.
I've had some kind of mild sexual developement problem where I have these symptoms among others:

Gender identity disorder
Very low fertility (far below minimum)
Delayed puberty - Voice is cracking still and sounds young
Don't like 'sex characteristics' on anybody including men
Recently started female hormones and I had sore nipples and personality changes in only about two weeks

I know it's not a "classic" intersex condition like klinefelters because I don't have breasts.

So my question is: Is there such things as intersex specialists, or someone who can rule out any possibilities of it?

What you need is an endocrinologist. If you are clearly anatomically male but are lacking some secondary male characteristics, you may be lacking hormones that can be replaced.

If you are anatomically male but feel you are female, it is a matter of gender identity.

You need to know which. You should have your chromosomes checked and have your hormones checked. You should have your hormones checked when you are not taking hormones.

There are a lot of causes of intersex states besides Kleinfelter. Some of them are described at the link.

The doctor you need in the short term is an endocrinologist.

I think you just have a genetic disorder, it probably will be all right in the end, have you tried the gp, that could help.

There are gender identity disorder clinics that specialize in gender identity problems & will do a thorough exam with you including genetic testing,etc.

Try a large teaching hospital if you have one near you.

You have gotten some real good answers on this and the sore nipples and mood changes are normal so I am told by my friend that went through a complete sex change. I remember being told that her nipples were real tender and the mood swings were sometimes real bad too. This is most likely doe to the chemical reaction.. Good luck Bud
