I need help.... Schizoaffective Disorder......!?

ok see i fit the diagnosis for schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, depression and bipolar disorder... i am extremely hyperactive at night i will scream , run break things, hurt myself from moving too fast. well basically its like a manic episode but i have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)

i know you can't rely on online screening tests but it said my mania was severe.. and i only have that at night. i also have sleeping problems (extremely severe insomnia) i hallucinate (see things and hear things that are horrifying the voices can talk to each other about me, or we could all talk. i dont recognize the voices either) and more things too, there's this one blobish figure who wants to kill me... i only see him at night too... i get terrified.
this all has been going on for 4 years, and when i got rushed to the ER one time the only thing that worked on me was an antipsychotic called Haldol. i am depressed during the day and hyper at night. whats wrong with me?

i have taken tests that all say i fit schizophrenia, bipolar and depression...

here are my medical problems -

ehlers danlos syndrome
an eating disorder
severe anxiety
insomnia
OCD
and more......

oh i know that temporal lobe epilepsy can mimic schizoaffective disorder. i'm getting tested for it too.... but please answer!!!!

i am seeing a psychiatrist too. my counselur last year couldn't stand me well, what i was telling her...

do you think they misdiagnosed OCD, but don't most people who have schizophrenia also have OCD???

PLEASE HELP ME, ANSWER!!!!! i'm very depressed too.... during the day any way, i get irritable too... just help please

hey, i'm really sorry to hear you're suffering through this. my girlfriend has the same thing, minus the night-time manic episodes. she is OCD about plucking hair, she hallucinates a man who's made of just black and has red eyes (thankfully he doesnt try to hurt her very often), she hear's a voice, and she can't sleep well.
it sounds like you do have a form of schizophrenia, i'm not sure if you have paranoid schiz., though. if you can, if you haven't tried already, or if you even want to, you might ask a doctor for advice. sorry i can't do more for you, but i'm only taking a class on psychology, i cant really say for certain what you should do. good luck, though.

Omg that must be sooo scary. Im SO srrry. Idk anything about this, but i suggestthat u get homeschooled an that u get watched byur parents (or guardian) every moment

Get a proper diagnosis.

It's obviously inaccurate if you're only treated for OCD.

How can this continue without someone saying you need to be on medication for schizo affective and bipolar?

This is not the place to receive help for your problems. Regular psychiatrists sometimes have problems appropriately medicating people with more than one issue.

Tell your psychiatrist that your medications are not working and you still have symptoms during the day and night. Ask your psychiatrist what he/she can do for you.

You may need to be treated by a psychiatrist with who tops in the field of schizoaffective disorder. Search the Internet for this topic and see who publishes on this topic. The psychiatric manual, Diagnostic and Statistics Manual, (DSM-IVR), lists contributors to the various mental illness sections, so you could get some names there as well. You may find someone competent nearby, or you may have to travel for treatment.

On the Internet, there will be various treatment options for Schizoaffective disorder. Perhaps those will help you as well. Also see if you can find some case histories.

If you don't see enough on the Internet, you can probably go to a university in your state where psychiatrists are trained and there should be plenty of psychiatric periodicals.

It sounds like you are experiencing alot of distress. I'm glad you are under the care of a psychiatrist - please listen to them. However, if they are treating you for OCD with an SSRI, that mediation could very well be contributing to your manic behaviors.
If you are abusing illicit drugs - please stop and tell the doctor you are doing so. Mind your caffeine and alcohol consumption.
Stay safe.
