I think people have got me wrong i have Borderlinr Personality Disorder not Bipolar,( sorry )? |
i mentioned in my last question about bpd i mean Borderline personality Disorder not Bipolar Disorder easy mistake i suppose....My symptoms are: I do see a therapist, he has also denied me medication, my therapist sessions make me feel worse. Seek a therapist using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (NOTE: many therapists are reluctant to take on patients with BPD, since they can be very difficult people to treat, so I wouldn't even mention the term until much later - just some of your symptoms, that you are committed to getting better, are already taking positive steps, and [later, perhaps, as treatment progresses] that you have no intention of being confrontational or argumentative, and fully realise that when a therapist makes challenging statements or demands that they are meant to help you, not as a personal attack requiring immediate and vigorous defence) - check out this site: http://www.bpdcentral.com Also http://www.behavioraltech.com/ (.com/downloads/dbtFaq) (/dbtFaq/_Cons.pdf) & http://www.borderlinepersonalitytoday (today.com) & http://www.borderlinepersonality.ca (ca/dbt.htm) I would also practise daily one of the 5 relaxation techniques at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2, read that page, and page 1, note the tips at the mental-health-abc & conquering stress websites, check out fully http://www.more-selfesteem.com and volunteer, as a way of increasing self esteem. Put down on paper everything you have done to help yourself, and take a copy to therapy, along with symptoms. You have within you the power to help yourself. Accept responsibility for your present condition (i.e. - don't just blame others!), forgive both yourself and others, or it will hold you back. CHOOSE to be positive and optimistic. It won't be quick or easy, but a great deal of improvement is possible, with a changed attitude and sufficient effort. Start seeing a therapist, that is the best bet you have. They may prescribe you some ant-depressants while treating you as well. As long as you find a good one that knows what they are doing you have the possibility for much improvement. Bi polar I believe are people who have extreame mood swings The main difference between the 2 is that people with bipolar have longer mood swings. They don't go back and forth within hours; they'll be manic for weeks or months, then normal, then depressed for several weeks, and so on. Many women are diagnosed with BPD when they also have an underlying BD II or Cyclothymia. You seem to understand what BPD is about and you know yourself best. u need to take your meds that you help you. If you are not on Meds for bipolar it will get worse . i have bipoler disorder . Ihad the same symptoms |
