I think people have got me wrong i have Borderlinr Personality Disorder not Bipolar,( sorry )?

i mentioned in my last question about bpd i mean Borderline personality Disorder not Bipolar Disorder easy mistake i suppose....My symptoms are:
i self harm
im never good enough 4 anything
i feel empty
i was abused as a child
i hate myself
i have compulsive thoughts
i hear voices
i do not take medication as the dr will not prescribe me any as i have suicidal thoughts.
i have a feeling of loss inside me
i dont know who i am anymore....

I do see a therapist, he has also denied me medication, my therapist sessions make me feel worse.

Seek a therapist using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (NOTE: many therapists are reluctant to take on patients with BPD, since they can be very difficult people to treat, so I wouldn't even mention the term until much later - just some of your symptoms, that you are committed to getting better, are already taking positive steps, and [later, perhaps, as treatment progresses] that you have no intention of being confrontational or argumentative, and fully realise that when a therapist makes challenging statements or demands that they are meant to help you, not as a personal attack requiring immediate and vigorous defence) - check out this site: http://www.bpdcentral.com Also http://www.behavioraltech.com/ (.com/downloads/dbtFaq) (/dbtFaq/_Cons.pdf) & http://www.borderlinepersonalitytoday (today.com) & http://www.borderlinepersonality.ca (ca/dbt.htm) I would also practise daily one of the 5 relaxation techniques at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2, read that page, and page 1, note the tips at the mental-health-abc & conquering stress websites, check out fully http://www.more-selfesteem.com and volunteer, as a way of increasing self esteem. Put down on paper everything you have done to help yourself, and take a copy to therapy, along with symptoms. You have within you the power to help yourself. Accept responsibility for your present condition (i.e. - don't just blame others!), forgive both yourself and others, or it will hold you back. CHOOSE to be positive and optimistic. It won't be quick or easy, but a great deal of improvement is possible, with a changed attitude and sufficient effort.

Start seeing a therapist, that is the best bet you have. They may prescribe you some ant-depressants while treating you as well. As long as you find a good one that knows what they are doing you have the possibility for much improvement.

Best of luck.

Bi polar I believe are people who have extreame mood swings

You sound like you have a BPD.

Read up that people who have that do harm themselfs but thats all I can remember.

I once knew someone who has BPD. She was freaking insane. But seemed okay when you talked to her.
She was also abused as a child. She stalked my BF nor did she take medicines except for epilepsy.

I think BiPolar and BPD are totaly different. I know two people who have BiPolar and they are NOT like this other girl

Extra ::::
I think. If you know what you have, dont let that depress you. Think of it as a good thing. You know what you ahve so you can start the healing.
Why do you hate yourself? What is there to hate? You feel empty? Take up some kind of hobby. I do photography! That makes me feel worth while and like I accomplish something great. Find something your great at, then maybe the self hate will go away. And dont give up easily. It took me a long time to find out I loved taking pictures.

Loss is always a hard feeling to get rid of. And so is the Identity. It sounds like your mind and spirit is drifting away from reality. Mine does that too. But because of my medications lol
YEARS ago I really didnt know who i was. It took a really long time and alot of self spiritual healing to figure out who I was.
and no religion does not need to be involved. lol

Everything is a slow process. I hope I helped you. Just read up more on things. try as hard as you can not to let faults depress you and I KNOW thats hard to do. I KNOW its esier said than done. Self harm will be a big one to get over and so will the depression. And the Voices

Goodluck!

The main difference between the 2 is that people with bipolar have longer mood swings. They don't go back and forth within hours; they'll be manic for weeks or months, then normal, then depressed for several weeks, and so on.

A borderline will have more brief mood swings that can change from day to day or so.

If you have borderline, the good news is that you wont need medication. The bad news is that it's hard to treat. You can get better if you find a good therapist and work hard on what they tell you to do. Try cognitive or CBT therapy.

Many women are diagnosed with BPD when they also have an underlying BD II or Cyclothymia. You seem to understand what BPD is about and you know yourself best.

Sometimes it is very hard to find a DBT (the most scientifically validated psychotherapy for BPD) trained psychotherapist. You can purchase the Skills Training Manual for Treating Borderline Personality Disorder by Marsha M. Linehan and try to find an eclectic psychotherapist with experience in treating BPD who will use it in your psychotherapy. Women's trauma group therapy is also very helpful if you can find one in your area.
