Seeing Community Mental Health Nurse Tomorrow..Advice Pls? |
I am having flashbacks to where in the past people have treated me/spoke to me like dirt and when I think about them I am actually arguing with them in a quiet voice and on occasions am physical fighting them (been told it is shadow boxing) Hi Walter discuss this with your CPN (Community Psychiatric Nurse) tomorrow and tell him of your concerns. Are you on medication as you need to check if you are allowed to drive as some Psychiatric drugs can effect a persons driving ability, although this is quite rare so stop worrying.. no they cant but what they will do is show you ways to deal wwith these thoughts ways to change how you thinka and teach you how to copy .with the neagtive stuff that has happen in your life.all the best and good luck If you are diagnosed as having PTSD you can get medication to help. I don't think that this should stop you from driving... cpn workers r good talk and listen 2 advice any support is better tnan nothing good luck Only tell them which you feel comfortable with. Also don't assume they're trustworthy becuase they're a nurse, I admit they're some angels of nurses out there but I had a social worked who was actually ended up harrassing me!! so first see if she/he is a good, trustworthy person, some of them are very good but not all are. So as with all things in life, DISCERN, not all that shines is gold. I have what is generally thought of by others as a serious mental illness and I've never been stopped from driving. I've read some of the answers given, and agree with most of them, i also have visited a CPN they are there to help also to put you in touch with other organisations who can help you further, all i can say is be honest and open with them, tell them everything that is upsetting you and then they can give you the right help. with regards to your driving licence i have been on medication for over two years and am well on it and no one has ever said anything about taking my licence away. |

Please do talk to your doctor so he/she can refer you if need be. But, you do need to discuss this as it could be a sign of schizophrenia. It is not something to be ashamed of, you are not crazy! I... uh huh, yeah, of coarse! ... |
