Vocal cord problem, a symptom of asthma?

I recently had a pulmonary function test and I was told that a problem with my vocal cords was detected. I knew I already have asthma, but is the vocal cord problem probably related to the asthma?

There are vocal cord problems independent of asthma, sometimes caused by excessive use of the vocals (shouting too loud and too often) or as complications to surgery.

And then, asthma can cause vocal troubles. If you have both and roughly around the same time, probably not coincidental is it? If you have both at present, highly likely the vocal cord problem was caused by your asthma.
