I have vitiligo ( skin disease in which white patches appear on skin) is there any treatment for it. and is there any organisation in middle east for it or any other continent where i can visit free there conference about vitiligo Vitiligo is a loss of skin melanocytes that causes areas of skin depigmentation of varying sizes. Cause is unknown, but the condition may be autoimmune, as up to 1鈦? of patients have evidence of other autoimmune disease. Diagnosis is often obvious on examination. Treatment often involves topical corticosteroids, psoralens plus ultraviolet A, or for severe widespread pigment loss, depigmentation (鈥渂leaching鈥? of residual patches of normal skin with hydroquinone. Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder, which means that the body is attacking itself, in this case it is attacking the melanocytes that produce pigment in the skin. Its not really understood why this... I work in dermatology and there is NOTHING, no shot that makes vitiligo be cured like that. There is no shot that can be given to make the color come back. There are some topical treatments that... take 2 tablets of lukodermin daily.. and after 2 hourse.. sit in sun... in 1st week for 5 min and after every week raised ur time by 5 min... and take this method for 2 Months....... where u r hav... I have it also. My DR. said the same thing to me in 1972. I was given pills and prescribed alot of sun and tanning lights in the winter. IT didnt work. Later in life I was told there is no cure>... all i know is that someone i know took it in conjunction with cortisone application on the skin and it worked for her... i am too debating wether its a scam or not... best of luck... i would like t... I've had this for 7 years. There is chance it will speard everywhere. I've tried everything I could to get rid of it. Finally, someone else who had this problem told me about Chinese medi...
