Vitiligo??? Spreadable? |
Sorry but some may think this is a stupid question or whatever, but i have a friend that's hands are really pale on the palms and everywhere except the back of the hand. I looked up vitiligo on wiki but i did not find anything on it being spreadable. I was just wondering if anyone can find if it is spreadable. He MIGHT be taking medications for it but i'm not sure because his hands kind of smell wierd (NO I DID NOT PUT MY NOSE ON HIS FACE >:O ). and his hands kinda feels dry. if this isn't really vitiligo just say so and thanks Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder, which means that the body is attacking itself, in this case it is attacking the melanocytes that produce pigment in the skin. Its not really understood why this happens but it is clearly not a spreadable or contagious disease. It is believed to have genetic and environmental causes. It is NOT contagious. And it's not a stupid question, you just should have asked him. |

I work in dermatology and there is NOTHING, no shot that makes vitiligo be cured like that. There is no shot that can be given to make the color come back. There are some topical treatments that... take 2 tablets of lukodermin daily.. and after 2 hourse.. sit in sun... in 1st week for 5 min and after every week raised ur time by 5 min... and take this method for 2 Months....... where u r hav... I have it also. My DR. said the same thing to me in 1972. I was given pills and prescribed alot of sun and tanning lights in the winter. IT didnt work. Later in life I was told there is no cure>... all i know is that someone i know took it in conjunction with cortisone application on the skin and it worked for her... i am too debating wether its a scam or not... best of luck... i would like t... I've had this for 7 years. There is chance it will speard everywhere. I've tried everything I could to get rid of it. Finally, someone else who had this problem told me about Chinese medi...
