Is there a treatment for vitiligo , which has been proven to work, for kids ?

The Six year old boy started showing signs of pigment loss when he was 3 , that is in June 2001. vitiligo... Covers the entire body except his chest, abdomen, area of hands, till his elbow and upper thigh. It started as a small spot near his eye and gradually started spreading .
The region below his Knee, part of hands below his elbow and almost whole of his face is affected by vitiligo.

It is currently active and spreading , but re-pigmentation has also been noticed in some areas of his face and legs.

The child's maternal grandmothers, sisters son is affected and is totally de-pigmented now. He is 32 years old.

His general health can be rated as good, but he has had an attack of typhoid when he was 1 1/2 years old and used to suffer from frequent chest and throat congestion and cold bouts around this period.

Skin type is Indian .

I'm Brown skinned and have this same skin disease. There is no medical cure yet.
I've tried chinese medicine. I know other people who have benefitted from this. When I tried it, the depigmentation stopped.
Sometimes you'll see the skin colour com back. This does not necessarily mean you will get all the colour back.
My suggestion would be to give alternative medicine a try.
Oh...and I've also heard that in India, there is a cure. i don't know much about it though.

Have you talked to a dermatologist or skin specialist? Is he taking meds that would affect pigmentation?

Seek a derm. UVB Phototherapy can be a possible treatment.
