The list of treatments mentioned in various sources for Vitiligo in infants includes the following list. Always seek professional medical advice about any treatment or change in treatment plans.
Sunscreens
Sun protection measures
Cosmetic camouflage of skin patches
Topical Steroids (glucocorticoids)
Topical photochemotherapy - psoralens and UVA or sunlight exposure
Oral PUVA therapy

The baby should be seen by a pediatric dermatologist.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:
1)slowly growing white patches of skin
2)dark brown patches of skin
Skin color is the result of the melanin pigment created by cells(melanocytes) in the skin.Occasionally, something happens to this mechanism. An area of skin may produce too much melanin and so becomes darker(chloasma).Or when no melanin is produced, the patch of skin becomes white. When a white patch grows periodically, you may have a skin disorder called VITILIGO.Chloasma patches are most common on the face and seldom spread very far. They often are associated with pregnancy or use of birth control pills in women. However, both men and women may get them for no apparent reason. Although VITILIGO patches can start at any age, they often first appear between AGES 20 and 30.They may begin on your face above the eyes or on your neck, armpits, groin, hands,or knees. They are often symmetric and can spread over your entire body. Heredity is often a factor.Sometimes the destruction of melanin-producing cells by the immune system causes vitiligo. In other cases, there are associateddisorders, such as thyroid problems or pernicious anemia. Neither vitiligo nor chloasma is life-threatening. Cosmetics or skin dyes often are used to hide the patches. Because vitiligo patches sunburn easily, use of a sunscreen lotion is necessary. TREATMENT: Repigmentation and depigmentation treatments are used to restore uniform skin color.Repigmentation of vitiligo patchesis done by exposure to sun or ultraviolet light after sensitizing the area with topical or oral medications(psoralens). This type of treatment is referred to as PUVA thearpy and is administered under the direction of your dermatologist. Retin-A cream applied nightly and removed by washing may helpto lighten the chloasma. Talk to a dermatolagist about this. I think it would be to soon to know if a baby would have this. good luck and best wishes.
