Has anyone got vitiligo??

has anyone got vitiligo and found a way of dealing with it,
i have it and it is causing me a lot of bother .i cant find a sunblock which will aid it for little while even .
i try not to go out in the day , even taking my boy to school at 8 am for 40 mins im burnt when i get home .. the worst affected area is my backs of my hands..tops of my feet, backs of my knees, and my inner elbows .. but it is spreading rapidly now and each year im looosing more pigment.. 13 years ago i could sunbathe and i only had a few patches about 15%coverage now i have 65%coverage
please help if you can thanks

I have three patches of vitiligo, two on my back, and one on my chest...it is annoying because it stands out and people think I've tanned funny, I stick a bit of fake tan over it which makes it less noticable.

I'm only 18 so I'm very concerned that I'll get more patches.

When in the sun, it will turn pink...even with sun cream. I just use factor 15 and let it get on with it.

I really feel for you. Have you been to a dermatologist maybe they could help you. Make sure you wear a factor 50 and cover up as any skin void of melanin will have no UV protection. Sorry i couldn't be of more help.

I have had vitilago since I was 7 yrs old.. I am now 41 ys old. When I was younger i would say i was 70% coverage. I too had it on the back of my hands , elbows. knees and eyelids. Now because of continued exposure to the sun the only place i have it is on my breast and the wrist of my right arm. Every time I would expose the spots to sun they would start to little by little fill in. I know this does not work for everyone but for me it worked wonders.

i am not shur i have vitiligo also, but mines hasnt spread in a few years
they have creams now where you can go ahead and bleach your skin
but for the burning problem, ive never heard of that
maybe you should try the nvf.com (national vitiligo foundation) and talk to the members there and ask them. not many people even know what it is
