I am 37 years old, Asian and have vitiligo since 1995. I wanted to get a job abroad but my vitiligo bothers me

Vitiligo bothers me lot. Will this be a problem, say in the immigration and the like?

It is not going to affect your immigration. Depending upon the country you are going to immigrate, they will do a medical examination.
Vitiligo is not a disease, it is only a skin condition, so in no way will it affect your medical report.

The rest is about your self pride, as far as getting a job is concerned, it should not be influenced by your skin condition, however having said that , they might be bit reluctant to give you a customer facing role in a restaurant or so, otherwise you should be able to get any other job with the same degree of success as other people.

Anyhow, in Asia Vitiligo is more of a stigma compared to the western world, so you would be more at ease.

I know some people who have vitiligo and are doing well in their jobs. Some of them from Asia as well.

You can discuss it with other vitiligo sufferers at the forum

I know, I know...I'm supposed to answer and all I can do is ask: What is vitiligo?
Standing-by.

I'm sorry to hear the stress your condition causes you. I can't say whether or not it would affect your immigration, but my hope would be that it wouldn't, and it certainly shouldn't. I can't imagine why your skin would be questioned, but if it is, just explain it to them. I know how hard it is to hold your head high when you feel self-conscious (I'm that way about my skin problems, too), but I say go for it. Don't let that stop you from pursuing what you want to do.

Good luck to you.
