hiya i am on a diet and i am eating steamed veg with rice for dinner and tuna and cucumber with tomatoe for my tea - i no that i am not getting what my body needs so i am going to start taking vitamins i have bought these 1's - Boots Multivitamin tablets, Boots A-Z and Boots Chewable Vitamin C is this ok to take and will it not put weight on me ??? and would it cover what my body needs ???thanxs None of the vitamines will make you gain weight. You seem a little to deicated to loosing weight as health conscious as it may be, the thing I do is ask myself if I would treat another human being the way I treat myself - this usually keeps me on a even keel. Yes take the vitamins but be gentle with yourself too, exercise eats sensibly! Good luck Get pharmaton multi vitamin. one a day does the trick. Vitamins will not make you gain weight. However, I wouldnt think youd need to take all 3 supplements. Taking too much of some vitamins can be harmful over time. Check the labels for what percentage of your RDA each supplement gives you. Also, eating veg is a good idea, but your diet could be low in iron, so make sure you include veg like broccoli I don't think you need all those! Did you ask the pharmacist? I don't think it is harmful to have too much of a vitamin, but I think you only absorb a certain amount, and the excess passes straight through and out via your urine! So a waste of money therefore! Take the A-Z once a day- should give you all the vitamins and minerals you need. If you live in the U.S. There is a special tonight on tv regarding the billions of dollars we spend on supplements.. I believe Katie Coric(not sure about her last name spelling) is doing the special. You might want to watch it.. Vitamins don't make you put weight on. Your better getting your vitamins from the foods you eat.. but if not possible then you supplement. Personally, I use a multi-vitamin daily and eat the best I can.. I never eat fast foods. I do eat some junk once in awhile, but not on a regular basis. Eat lot's of green leafy veggies.. fresh fruits, lean proteins or even beans, lentils etc.. I do drink non-fat milk.. lot's of water. The foods you mentioned are good..but eat a variety of foods from the major food groups.. I am under the assumption that you are taking three different vitamins I guess it's alright to take vitamins to supplement your diet, and they shouldn't be able to add on to your weight. Good luck. |
