Vitamins for clear skin...IM CONFUSED!!? |
I have been reading up on different vitamins to take to clear up acne and get overall healthy skin. I have acne & have had it for years (now 22). And yes I wash it, drink lots of water and eat as healthy as possible (I dont need suggestions on how to prevent it...just on vitamins please!). Well I found so many...some say zinc is the best, some say vitamin E is the best, some say its vitamin B!! I cant keep track of so many! So should I just write all this down and go buy each of them seperately? Is it ok to take several different vitamins daily? I know I should ask my doctor about this but I dont have insurance & cant afford it. So any suggestions on which vitamin is best to clear skin & keep it healthy will be appreciated! I was thinking about a multi vitamin but I dont think it will have enough of each vitamin to help my bad skin. I would like to get vitamins that focus mostly on healthy skin. Thanks everybody! Vitamin A in higher doses has the same effect as Accutaine. My naturopath said it is safe to take 30,000 IUs for 3 months. If you want to take this longterm I would stick to a lower amount like 10,000 IUs a day. If you want to confirm this amount, I'd ask someone in a health food store to recommend a safe dosage, or else look it up in a book on vitamins. Too much vitamin A (just like Accutaine) can damage your liver, as well as your bones (see the link below), so this is important. I actually just looked it up on another site and it says that there is no RDA (which I think means recommended daily allowance) for vitamin A. That link is below as well. Did you try going on birth control pills??? I've had the same trouble as you for years as well and the doctor said I should go on birth control pills...maybe you should go see a doctor and see if that's right for you as well??? well my situation is as much as you do. |
