Vitamin supplements v.s. natural vitamins from food?

I know its probably better to get vitamins from food but is it a waste of time to get them from supplements? With my lifestyle its almost impossible to get all the vitamins I need from food so... I guess id just like to know if im wasting my money by taking vitamin supplements.

It's not a waste of money to get your vitamins from supplements especially if you figure you can't get them from foods. Something is always better than nothing, and though you are right, it's better to get your needed vitamins naturally, the body won't deny vitamins from supplements. If you're always on the run like I am, take those vuitamins!! And when you hit the fast food place just think a little healthy, and get that salad or the bean burrito instead of the fries and burger. You'll get more out of your meals in more ways than one.

vitamins from supplements are fine. i basically get all my vitamins from supplements lol. and im really good condition

No your not wasting your money. As long as you look at what you are buying, and get a brand you trust, that is exactly what they are there for.
Some of the supplements are actually better than the vitamins you may get from food because often they are in a form that is easier for your body to absorb.

you should definitely try to get as much natural vitamins from food as you can because your body absorbs them much better, but if that is really impossible, vitamin supplements are fine.

Vitamins from foods are best but supplements are not a waste of time. Just be sure to take them with food so your body absorbs them best. I try to get them from food but there are just times you don't for whatever reason, so I take supplements on a regular basis.

No, you are not wasting your money. You cannot get all your nutrients from food alone, especially the food today. I have read that a carrot today has approximately 50% of the nutrients as it did 40 yrs. ago. Look up something called glyconutrients. I make them myself and give them to myself and my children everyday and we are very healthy.

You are definitely not wasting your money. So many foods these days are lacking the vitamins that they once offered due to chemical sprays and other man-made damage. If you were to consume enough food to get your RDAs from food alone, you would definitely gain weight. Keep taking your supplements and do your best to follow a healthy diet that is low in sodium and trans fats and high in protein. Be sure to also drink 1/2 ounce of water for every pound of body weight to ensure that your bodily organs are working at optimal efficiency.

What you need is a Whole Food Vitamin. IE, the vitamins are extracted from food sources and not synthetic. Go here http://www.newenglandnutritives.com
