Vitamins, do they work?

Now, i know when you eat vegetables and fruit you get the vitamin goodness from them, but is taking a vitamin pill the same as eating and obtaining the same vitamins? eating or taking a harmless vitamin pill each day? are the pills the same as eating? etc.

lol thanks for that answer, but im not fat lol. I just wanna know if they really work.

how much can u trust the pharmaceutical companies who makes them?

a recent study has shown that the much talked about vit e has little or no effect/ benefits on humans.

we know what we're eating when we put mangoes, apples, etc into our mouths. but what exact properties are being put into the vitamins?

of course it helps...but remember when you take a vitamin that has 3000 percent of your daily dose of vit. B12 you probobly wont absorb all of it. Since a vitamin packs a ton of nutrients into a little pill it is harder for your intestines to "catch" and absorb all of what the vitamin has to offer....thats why they direction will tell you to take it with a meal.

No not same. There is more than 1 vitamin in a vege or fruit and they work together. Also, there is the benefit of the fibre. Also natural is much better for your system(for it recognizes it faster and assimilate the vitamins better) than the synthesized vitamins. Synthesized Vitamins can be taken with your fruits and veges when you think the fruit may be lacking (such as an apple fresh off the tree has way more vitamin C than one that has been sitting in the fruit bowl for over a week so taking an additional Vitamin C pill might just help the nutrition content of that apple. Again, it is the other things in the apple that helps the body assimilate that Vitamin C.
