Taking vitamins & your metabolism...?


Someone who does not eat properly, or much at all... would taking vitamins make them FEEL better physically? Not so exhausted ALL THE TIME. If your metabolism is basically at a standstill, would the vitamins help boost it somewhat? When I say vitamins I don't mean just here & there, I mean starting a regimine (sp?) of a One A Day (MAXIMUM with all the extra vitamins & minerals, etc...) and in addition to the Fish Oil, Garlic, Calcium, Magnesium, etc..

Yes, part of feeling sluggish could be vitamin deficiency. You may not feel "charged up" by taking a vitamin, but it could help. B-Vitamins and Magnesium are most closely involved in energy production. And I am a believer in a multi vitamin for overall health. The average American diet does not usually provide enough vitamins anyway.

fiber and vitamin c is all ya need...the other things you mentioned wouldnt hurt..also there are regimines out there that clean out you colon...its disgusting but everyone i know whos tried it feels a million times better.

your metabolism dosent slow down that much, you still need to breath and your heart still beats so the effect will be minimal. vitamins do have an important role to play so if you are lacking in some you may already be feeling the effects, its heaps better just to eat healthy all the time.
