Do vitamins?


Well I know how important vitamins are for pregnant women and I will be taking mine as I always do with my pregnancies but I was wondering if vitamins make you gain weight? What kind of vitamins do you take? I was prescribed Prenate Elite only cause its combined with a stool softner and since I have trouble sometimes I thought it would be good for me. Do you take vitamins?

Acutally, vitamins will help you lose weight. They provide your body will all of the essential vitamins and minerals that it needs. Note that this is almost impossible to do with just eating food. A reason that vitamins help so much is they enhance your body's ability to perform such tasks as digestion, circulation, resperation...etc. Being more effective overall, the body's metabolism will increase and as a result more fat will be burned. Since you are discussing pregnancy, i am assuming you will be eating fairly healthy, which combined with vitamins and plenty of water, is great for the body, and will not add on extra pounds. Of course extra pounds should be expected with pregnancy, but the vitamins will help curb this.

I dont take vitamins but I don't think there bad for you. also tablet u take isn't as effeicient as the real thing. Vitimen C from a pill isn't as good for you as having vitemen from an orange.

Excess calories make someone gain weight. If you burn the calories as energy, your body can't store it as fat. There is no fat in vitamins, and especially not in one very small capsule.

Vitamins round out and complement your nutrition. Some people have trouble utilizing fat as an energy source due to inadequate vitamin intake.

Vitamin supplements contain 0 cals. Stay away from Vitamin A, too much is toxic for the baby. Always check with your doctor before taking any supplements.

i take a combo of vit. through iv and they have helped me gain weight but i am underweight(97lbs) for my age(20). vitamins are great...i feel so much better and have more energy.

Yes, i've taken vitamins for many years, I'm not a smoker nor a drinker, and it makes a difference.

If you take vitamins before meals with a full glass of water they can actually help you lose weight by partially filling your stomach before eating. Not to mention the great nutritional benefits. Being pregnant you will of course gain weight the trick is keeping it at the desirable level of gain.

I take multivitamin/mineral supplement along with some the help reduce my cholesterol. I have taken them for years and years with out weight gain. I have maintained my weight within the medical "ideal" range over the years with little or no dieting other than trying to eat those foods I know are healthly and trying not to overdo those foods that are questionable but sure do taste great.
